Grant increases under Better Energy Home scheme
There was some good news recently in relation to the Better Energy Homes scheme. A few variations have been made to the already very successful scheme. The scheme offers cash grants to homeowners, for energy efficient upgrades, to homes built before 2006.
The new changes will take effect from the 15th January 2018 and include:
- An increase in funding for external wall insulation for a detached house, from €4,500 to €6,000
- An increase in funding for external wall insulation for a semi-detached house, from €3,400 to €4,500
- An increase in funding for external wall insulation for a detached house, from €2,250 to €2,750
- An increase in funding for advanced heating controls upgrades, from €600 to €700
- Funding for oil and gas boilers will no longer be available
