A LUNOS HRV Hybrid system offers the best of both LUNOS Exhaust Air Systems and Lunos Systems with Heat Recovery. LUNOS HRV Hybrid Systems offer full Heat Recovery Ventilation in Living and Bedrooms. LUNOS Exhaust Air units (without heat recovery) are offered for wet rooms on an “on-demand” basis only.
Main components of LUNOS HRV Hybrid Systems:
1. Lunos e²
2. Lunos Exhaust units
1. The LUNOS e² Heat Recovery unit is an ideal ventilation solution in rooms such as living rooms & bedrooms. LUNOS e² fans always operate in pairs. Therefore, an even number of units must always be installed in a property to ensure the units work properly.
How the LUNOS e² unit works…
The LUNOS e², at first, extracts air whilst absorbing the heat within the unit’s core. When the core is fully charged with heat, the fan changes direction & draws fresh, filtered air, from outside through the unit and into the room, whilst transferring the stored heat into this fresh air. Each LUNOS e2 unit is wired together with another, and whilst one unit is extracting, the other is drawing fresh air inwards – and vice versa. The LUNOS e² fan with heat recovery has a power consumption of just 1.4 Watts in base load operation (0.09 W/m3/h), that’s less than €5 in electricity costs per annum!
2. Lunos RA 15-60 / Lunos AB 30/60 / Lunos V30/60 exhaust units are installed in wet rooms to provide extraction of moisture on an "on-demand" basis. This means that these exhaust units are only utilised when the wet rooms are actually in use. So, although the exhaust units don't offer recovery of heat, because they are only used periodically, the overalle efficiency of the heat recovery system is only reduced by 1 - 2%*.
This way, heat is recovered from the vast majority of air exchange, but cost is significantly reduced by utilising the less expensive Exhaust Air units in the wetrooms. LUNOS HRV Hybrid Systems are our most popular ventilation product.
